Pesach 2010: Act Now to Combat Slavery

In our effort to combat slavery and trafficking, we ask that you email your Senators and Representatives asking them to fund a variety of government programs that combat slavery and trafficking in the U.S. and around the world, as well as fund programs to help victims of slavery and trafficking.

Spring is the season of nature's renewal. Pesach or Passover is also known as Hag HaAviv, the Festival of Springtime as well as Z'man Cheirutenu, the Season of our Liberation. Renewal and liberation are universal: every human being is entitled to freedom and hope for the future. As we celebrate the liberation of the Jewish people from slavery in Egypt this season, let us take action to liberate the millions of men, women and children who remain enslaved. 

Moses demanded of Pharaoh: "Let my people go". Now we must demand that oppressors everywhere, "Let all people go!" 

Here are some things you can do today to help end slavery around the world.

Contact your government representatives. Ask them to support funding to combat slavery and to aid victims of trafficking.
