RHR-NA and B'Tselem Urge Secretary Clinton to Support Goldstone Commission

The United Nations Human Rights Council has appointed a special commission to investigate allegations of human rights abuses during Operation Cast Lead. Lead by Justice Richard Goldstone, the Commission has been given the task "to assess all human rights situations and violations in the context of the conflict without distinction of any kind and in an impartial manner," said UNHCR President Ambassador Uhomoibhi. Israel had said it would not cooperate with the Commission, citing UN bias against Israel as a reason. RHR-NA and B'Tselem believe, however, that full cooperation--providing both access and information--by both Israel and Hamas is essential to resolving the debate about the abuses.

RHR-NA and B'Tselem have written to Secretary of State Clinton urging her to support the Commission. You can read the letter sent by RHR-NA and B'Tselem by opening the document below.
